Unmanned Aircraft Systems

The NASC Commercial Unmanned Aircraft Systems sector began with a request for a locally commanded and controlled UAV capable of flying ISR missions in active war zones. Our mission was to develop and deploy an unmanned aircraft capable of detecting hidden threats to our troops before they went “outside the wire.” The result was our Mako Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, a highly successful aircraft credited with saving countless American and allied lives.

Since that auspicious beginning, our expertise, passion, and contribution to UAS technology has grown exponentially. The NASC Commercial Unmanned Aircraft Systems sector now encompasses the development of multiple UAV platforms and variants. These include the TigerShark RQ-23A, The NASC TigerShark-XP™, and the NASC Teros™.

With the success of NASC UAV platform development came and concurrent a necessary expansion in the associated UAS products and services. NASC UAS Flight services offers experienced personnel in all phases of UAV operations including Mission Commanders, Payload Operators, Flight Instructors, Pilots, Logisticians, and Maintenance Technicians. Additionally, NASC offers UAS Technology services to assess and demonstrate the feasibility of specific UAS concepts as well as UAS Flight Training including in-depth Flight Instruction and Ground School Training.

Seeing the need for specialized equipment in UAS operations, we subsequently expanded our offerings to include Ground Control Stations, Mission Support Equipment, and Flight Software. From our start in 2003, NASC has proudly grown into a full-service provider of UAS solutions for the Department of Defense, academia, and industry.
